Audio Spectrum Analyzer using FPGA Technology

This report documents the work done through the course of Graduation Project which has the title “Audio Spectrum Analyzer using FPGA Technology ” .

The main objective of the project was to design and implement an audio spectrum analyzer on the DE2 Development Board . The spectrum analyzer takes an analog signal and pass it through an ADC which converts it to digital audio data , this digital data is then passed through an FFT processor .The FFT processer coverts the digital data from the time domain to frequency domain hence the spectrum is obtained. The spectrum is then shown on a monitor .The programming language used for this project is VHDL and Verilog which are commercial hardware description language.

At the end of the project a working Spectrum Analyzer was achieved with some minor error in representing  the correct frequency   spectrum suggestion to minimized those error is given at end of the report.
